Throughout the course of the day, the Denville Police Department, as well as other police departments in the surrounding towns, have been receiving numerous reports of loud explosions that can be both heard and felt by residents. It has now been determined that the cause of these explosions was testing being conducted at Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway Township. There is no reason for concern. As per representatives at Picatinny Arsenal, testing is conducted on an almost daily basis, but atmospheric and/or other conditions can sometimes result in the explosions being felt over a wide spread area.
