Clear Lake will reach Flood Warning Stage this weekend! For further information: www.weather.gov/sto
This is an information only notification to residents and businesses along the shores of Clear Lake.
The recent storms have raised the level of Clear Lake to nearly 8’on the Rumsey gauge. This level does not normally cause flooding or damage. However, when the lake is at this level, storms can create waves that could inundate shoreline areas. The lake may continue to rise, as more storms are forecast to impact Lake County and the surrounding watershed.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory and a High Wind Advisory for Lake County. More information is available at: www.weather.gov/sto
The Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services encourages all residents to take time now to check their homes or businesses, and prepare to leave if instructed to do so by the Sheriff’s Office or Police agencies. If you have an alternate place to stay, prepare that now!
You should have a full tank of gas, your vital documents, prescriptions and supplies to support your family and pets if you need to leave your home. You should plan on being away from home for several days. If necessary, the Sheriff’s Office will coordinate shelter sites with the County Department of Social Services and the American Red Cross.
If your home or business suffers damage from flooding, please contact the County Building Official before attempting to return. They can be reached at 707-263-2382.
