The Janesville Police Department, in conjunction with the Police Executive Research Forum, held a meeting to discuss the future of policing in America with House Speaker Paul Ryan today. Police executives from across the country discussed the implementation of the Police Executive Research Forum’s new Integrating Communications, Assessment and Tactics training guide at their departments. PERF introduced the guide, aimed at reducing deadly use of force incidents in the United States, at a conference held in New Orleans in December of 2016. Six Janesville officers attended the training conference and will implement a 3 year plan to integrate ICAT into the Janesville Police Department starting this March.

Joining Chief David Moore at the meeting were House Speaker Paul Ryan; New Orleans, Louisiana Police Superintendent, Michael Harrison; Camden County, New Jersey Police Chief J. Scott Thomson; Burlington, Vermont Police Chief Brandon del Pozo; Tucson, Arizona Police Chief Chris Magnus; Volusia County, Florida Sheriff Mike Chitwood; PERF Executive Director Chuck Wexler; and PERF Director of Program Management, Kevin Morison.
