**UPDATE**LASD Homicide Detectives Assist Azusa PD Investigate an O.I.S. in the 200 blk. of Windsong Court, Azusa
***UPDATE*** Officer Involve Shooting, Azusa
Lieutenant Mendoza, Homicide Bureau reports detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the Azusa Police Department’s Officer Involved Shooting.
Homicide detectives had learned that Azusa Police Department personnel responded to the 1800 block of Ranch Road, in the city of Azusa regarding “shots fired” and “a man with a gun” call.
Shortly after arriving at the location officers made contact with the suspect, who refused to follow the officers’ commands. The suspect pointed a handgun at an officer. Fearing for his life the officer fired several rounds from his duty weapon at the suspect, striking the suspect at least once in the upper torso.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene
.
The suspect is described as a male white adult, age forty-nine.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are responding to the 200 Block of Windsong Court, Azusa, to assist Azusa Police Department personnel investigate the circumstances surrounding an Officer Involved shooting.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
