Advisory

Streetlight Outage Information **UPDATE** 1-12-17

**PG&E made repairs, and the lights are now working again.

The streetlight circuit failed in the area bordered by Mayfield Ave. on the north, Southgate Ave. and Northaven Dr. on the east, Portola Ave. on the south and Higate Dr. on the west. This area is served by "series" wired streetlights identified by City staff as RO-366. Series wired street lights fail in groups, like an old-style Christmas lights typically leaving an entire neighborhood without streetlights. RO circuit failures and street light outages are commonly caused by a PG&E equipment failure or accidental damage. Due to the high voltage used in RO circuits, or because PG&E equipment is involved, city staff can’t perform repairs or need extensive coordination with PG&E to do so. At this time, there appears to be an intermittent power problem with PG&E's equipment. Public Works staff is working with PG&E to restore power to the street lights as soon as possible.

Attached is a map of the area affected by the streetlight outage.
