*Update* #LASD Homicide Detectives Responded to Investigate Stabbing Death Woman, 6000blk Temple City Bl, Temple City

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the stabbing death of a woman and the wounding of a man. The incident occurred Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at approximately 12:05 p.m., on the 6000 block of Temple City Boulevard, Temple City.

Detectives have learned that deputies responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at the location.  Upon their arrival, they discovered a female Hispanic 40 years-old, and a male Hispanic 42 years-old, inside a residence. Both victims were suffering from stab wounds.

According to the male victim, they were sitting inside the residence when the suspect, a male Hispanic 44 years-old, entered the home through the front door and attacked the female victim with a wrench.  The suspect then picked up a samurai sword and stabbed her one time in the lower body.  The male victim attempted to stop the suspect from attacking the female victim.  The suspect then attacked the male victim with the samurai sword striking him with it several times.  The suspect then left the location by running out the front door.

Deputies set up a containment of the area to search for the suspect.  After the containment was set up, the suspect emerged from between two houses and surrendered peacefully to the deputies.

It is believed the suspect and the female victim knew each other, but it is unclear at this time why the suspect attacked the victims.

Paramedics arrived and pronounced the female Hispanic dead at the scene.

The male victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.

The sword and wrench were recovered at the scene.

The suspect was also taken to a local hospital where he was treated for a minor puncture wound.  He was later booked at Temple Sheriff Station for murder.

There is no further information at this time.
