Pasadena Police employees made a heart-felt differences in lives of many in-need during 2016 holiday season; see how.
Thanksgiving and Christmas are a joyful occasions for friends and families to spend time together over a warm meal and the giving of gifts, especially for children. Unfortunately, there are several in communities across this country who do not have the financial means to celebrate with the basics. The Pasadena Police Department's Community Services Sections and many other PD employees reached out to many of those in need in Pasadena.
On Thanksgiving day, 17 PD families spent their holiday delivering meals to home-bound seniors alone and underprivileged, reaching 138 households.
On 12/2/16, donated Christmas trees were delivered to 29 needed families.
On 12/19/17, the Community Services Section hosted a community breakfast with Santa providing food and wrapped gifts to 75 households with children.
The Thanksgiving meals and Christmas food and toys were donated by the Pasadena Salvation Army, #PasadenaTAB (twitter).
Of special note, on 12/14/2016, the Pasadena Police Air Operations Section and Foothill Air Support Team (FAST) conducted their 11th annual Christmas Toy delivery to ill children at Huntington Memorial Hospital and needy families affiliated with Peace Over Violence. Over 70 children got the chance to talk with the helicopter arriving Santa and select a special gift.
