Flash Flood Warning until 04:30PM

The National Weather Service in Hanford CA has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... North central Kern County in central California...

* Until 430 PM PST

* At 332 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. Rock and mud slides along Highway 58 and Highway 178 will be possible as well as flash flooding along the Erskine Fire burn scar.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Tehachapi, Squirrel Mountain Valley, Bodfish, Weldon, Golden Hills, South Lake Cdp, Onyx, Lake Isabella, Mojave, Keene, Breckenridge Mtn, Democrat, Edison, Mountain Mesa, Bear Valley Springs, Jawbone Canyon and Piutes. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow moving through the Erskine Creek. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

* AFFECTED AREAS: KERN

Instructions:

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep terrain, especially in and around these areas.
