Driver Involved in Two Crashes within Two Minutes

The driver of a vehicle, Brandon Bridges, 19 YOA, Spring Grove, drove off of the roadway twice within several minutes and collided with a structure on both occasions.

At 1230 AM on Jan. 6, 2017, Bridges called York County 911 Dispatch to advise that he was traveling westbound in the 4300 blk. of Walters Hatchery Rd, Spring Grove, North Codorus Twp., when he lost control and drove off the roadway while negotiating a turn. He jumped from the vehicle when it began to slide down an embankment as it traveled several hundred feet into a field and then came to rest after it struck a farm structure.

When officers arrived, the investigation revealed that the driver was in a previous and similar type crash a mile from this crash. At the intersection of Seven Valleys Rd. and Walters Hatchery Rd., North Codorus Twp., the vehicle left the roadway, struck a street sign, and crashed into a shed at residence at that location. Bridges left the scene of that crash without contacting the property owner or police; only to crash again down the road.

No injuries occurred to the driver. Snowy road conditions and excessive speed are to blame. Citations are pending.
