Suspect Identified in October 15th Baseball Bat Attack

The Chula Vista Police Department’s Crimes of Violence Unit, with the help of the public, has identified the suspect in the October 15th baseball bat attack on two female victims outside a Chula Vista bar.

The suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Jorge Becerra of San Diego. He is an Hispanic male, 5’ 9” tall, weighing about 200lbs.

He is considered a dangerous suspect with gang ties and should not be approached reference this incident. Please call 911 if you see him. There is an active outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Background: On 10-15-2016 a large fist fight broke out in front of the On the Rocks Bar located at 656 E St, Chula Vista. Becerra can be seen in the video severely beating two women with a baseball bat. One woman suffered a laceration to the back of her head requiring surgical sutures. Another woman suffered a fractured skull and orbital bone causing debilitating injuries requiring rehabilitation.
