Personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Industry Station conducted a DUI/CDL Checkpoint on Thursday, December 22, as part of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department commitment to public safety. This checkpoint was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in City of Industry. The location of the Thursday’s checkpoint was on Hacienda Boulevard, south of Nelson Avenue and conducted between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Checkpoints are placed in locations that have the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence and provide the greatest safety for officers and the public.  During the DUI/CDL Checkpoint Industry Station personnel handed out Christmas toys to children



This DUI/Driver’s License checkpoint lowers DUI deaths and injuries. A major component of these checkpoints is the deterrent effects it has on those who might drive drunk or drugged impaired bring about more awareness and encouraging everyone to use sober designated drivers.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), checkpoints have provided the most effective documented results of any of the DUI enforcement strategies, while also yielding considerable cost savings of $6 for every $1 spent.

2 Suspect was Arrested for a Misdemeanor Warrants and Sent to Court
4 Suspended / Revoked Drivers were Arrested and Sent to Court
17 Unlicensed Drivers were Arrested and Sent to Court
4 Vehicles were Impounded for 30 Days
17 Vehicles were Released per Checkpoint Release Procedures
