(Harris County, TX) Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies of District 1 and District 2 patrol are being credited for their quick capture of a carjacking suspect on Monday, December 12, 2016, in north Harris County.

HCSO Robbery investigators say that 35 year old Jonathan Matthew Adams approached a woman and her six year old son as they were entering their 2009 Chrysler Sebring at Red Oak drive and F.M.1960 west at around 4:00 pm.

Adams pointed a gun and demanded her to get out of the vehicle.

As she was complying, her son began to get out of the passenger back seat at the same time.

Adams reversed the vehicle, and the door struck the son knocking him to the ground.

The child sustained minor bumps and bruises and was transported to Houston Northwest Hospital in good condition for observation.

He then drove off east bound on F.M. 1960.

Deputies broadcast a description of the vehicle, and it was spotted by District 2 patrol personnel in the 2000 block of Farrell road and east Hardy Toll Road.

The vehicle was abandon by Adams , and he had fled into the neighborhood. A perimeter was set up by responding deputies.

After a brief search District 2 deputies found Adams hiding and immediately took him into custody.

He was brought back to the scene and identified by the complainant.

Adams has been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault and is being held with no bond on each count.

HCSO Patrol District 1 and District 2 deputies deserve recognition for their quick and decisive actions in bringing this brazen criminal to justice.
