ARMED SUBJECT UPDATE 4:00 AM: SHELTER IN PLACE CANCELED. The suspect has been safely taken into custody with no injuries. All traffic is asked to avoid the area for another hour while police clear the scene.

The Norton Shores Police Department has responded to the 2400 Blk of Norcrest Drive on an armed subject. The subject is currently barricaded in the home. Police have surrounded the home in questions. Anyone within the general area is asked to shelter in place in their basement until notified by NSPD.

NSPD will provided an update as soon as one is available.
