Homicide Detectives ask for the Public’s Help in solving the murder of 16-year-old Danah Rojo-Rivas; $30,000 Reward Offered
 
Who: Captain Steve Katz, Detective Adam Kirste and Detective Sergeant Robert Gray, Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau; Captain Kerry Carter, Century Station; Representatives from The Office of Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, Mayor Maria Santillan-Beas, Mayor Pro-Tem Jose Luis Solache, Councilmember Aide Castro, Councilmember Edwin Hernandez, Councilmember Sal Alatorre; City of Lynwood; Che Hill, Cornelius Jackson, and family members of victim Danah Rojo-Rivas.
                   
What: Detectives will discuss the homicide of 16-year-old Danah Rojo-Rivas who was in the backseat of her mother’s car, leaving a church function on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. Unbeknownst to her, the suspects were chasing unrelated persons in a vehicle.  The intended target exited his vehicle and fled south across Euclid Avenue in the City of Lynwood. The suspect fired several times at him, missing him, but striking the car Danah was in.  That bullet fatally wounded Danah. 
 
Danah was on the softball team at Gardena High School and wanted to become a volunteer at an animal shelter because she loved dogs. Her family members will appeal to the public for assistance in locating the person(s) responsible.
 
Homicide Bureau detectives will announce a combined $30,000 reward, offered by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and private contribution, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Danah Rojo-Rivas.
