On December 5, 2016, at approximately 6 PM, Kern County Sheriff's Office Deputies were dispatched to an infant not breathing in the 8300 block of Stagecoach Ln, in Rosamond. Depuites arrived and located a 1 month old female infant not breathing. Deputies performed CPR until medical aid arrived. The infant was transported to Antelop Valley Hospital in Lancaster, where she was pronounced deceased.
KCSO Detectives responded and assumed the investigation, as is protocol for child deaths. Detectives are currently speaking with the parents of the child and investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
An autopsy will be scheduled later this week to determine the cause and manner of death. The infants name will be released by the coroner's office at a later time.
