21 year old arrested on multiple charges after resident walks in on suspect burglarizing his home.
On Thursday, December 1, 2016, Fremont Police officers arrested Robert Lomack (21 years old/Oakland resident) on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, residential burglary, resisting/obstructing a police officer and several other charges after leading police on a short vehicle pursuit.
At 12:56 p.m., a resident on Rancho Arroyo Pkwy called 911 to report a man burglarizing his residence. The caller was able to take photographs of the suspect and his vehicle, described as a Toyota Prius, as he fled from the scene. FPD Dispatch conducted a check of the plate which showed the suspect’s vehicle had been stolen during the commission of a residential burglary in Fremont (36000 block of Soapberry Common) the prior day (11/30).
At approximately 1:00 p.m., responding officers located the suspect vehicle in the area of Mission Blvd. and Stevenson Blvd. Officers attempted a traffic enforcement stop as the suspect began traveling westbound on Stevenson Blvd from Mission Blvd. The driver failed to yield, immediately accelerated and a short vehicle pursuit was initiated. After only driving a few blocks, the suspect crashed into another vehicle on Walnut Ave at the intersection of Guardino Ave. The Toyota became disabled and the suspect immediately fled into a residential area on foot. Officers gave chase and took the suspect into custody at Bardgin/Lakefront.
The citizen driving the vehicle that was struck by the suspect, was transported to a local hospital for complaint of pain and was later released.
During a subsequent search of the suspect vehicle, stolen property from the Soapberry Common burglary was located. San Francisco Police also located and recovered loss from the Soapberry Common burglary at a bakery in their city Wednesday evening (11/30) around 5:30 p.m.
