HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – December 5th – The Hollister Police Department is seeking information regarding the identity of a hit and run collision suspect.
On the afternoon of November 29, 2016, at about 4:00 pm, a vehicle versus pedestrian hit and run collision occurred at the intersection of San Benito and Third St. The driver of the vehicle fled from the area prior to the arrival of officers and has not been located.
Officers arrived and spoke with the victim. The victim advised he was crossing the street in the crosswalk on Third Street. He advised the light was green for him when the suspect vehicle approached him and struck the duffle bag he was carrying over his shoulder. The force of the impact ripped the duffle bag away from him, ripping the strap and causing injury to his shoulder.
Officers also learned that there was an unidentified female witness that left prior to the officer’s arrival and has not been contacted at this time.
The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model black four door compact pick-up. The downtown camera system captured the truck heading southbound on San Benito Street after the incident. The vehicle appears to be a Nissan Truck.
The police department would like to make contact with the witness that left prior to the police arrival and especially to contact the driver of the truck.

HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – 5 de Diciembre - El Departamento de Policía de Hollister está buscando información acerca de la identidad de un sospechoso de colisión.
En la tarde del 29 de Noviembre de 2016, alrededor de las 4:00 pm, ocurrió un choque de vehículo contra peatón en la intersección de San Benito y Third St. El conductor del vehículo huyó de la zona antes de la llegada de oficiales Y no ha sido localizado.
Los oficiales llegaron y hablaron con la víctima. La víctima aconsejó que estaba cruzando la calle en el crucero de peatones de la calle Third (Tercera). Advirtió que la luz era verde para él cuando el vehículo sospechoso se acercó a él y golpeó la mochila que llevaba sobre su hombro. La fuerza del impacto le arrancó la mochila, arrancando la correa y causándole lesiones en el hombro.
Los oficiales también se enteraron de que había una testigo femenina no identificada que se fue antes de la llegada del oficial y no se ha contactado en este momento.
El vehículo sospechoso se describe como un nuevo modelo camioneta Pick-up negro de cuatro puertas compacto. El sistema de cámaras del centro de Hollister capturó el vehículo que se dirigía hacia el sur en la calle San Benito después del incidente. El vehículo parece ser un modelo Nissan.
