Deputies are asking for the publics help in locating the driver of a hit and run vehicle that hit a 3 year old boy

INCIDENT: Major Injury Hit and Run
LOCATION: Del Rosa Avenue and Baseline Street
SUSPECT(S): Hispanic Male 40-50 years old with facial hair
VICTIM(S): 3 Year Old Boy
SUMMARY: On December 3, 2016, at around 5:20 PM, deputies from the Highland Station responded to a hit and run at a strip mall near the intersection of Baseline Street and Del Rosa Avenue.
Deputies located a three year old boy suffering from major road-rash in the strip mall’s parking lot. Deputies learned the boy was stuck as he was crossing the parking lot, he became lodged under the vehicle’s wheel and was dragged. The driver backed off the boy and drove away.
The boy was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a maroon or burgundy late 1990’s model Ford F150. The truck bed has boarded side-walls and was carrying landscaping equipment.
The driver was described as a Hispanic male adult (40-50 years old) with a beard or goatee.
Deputies have a partial license plate number and are currently investigating several leads.
