Modesto, CA – Investigation Continues in November 19th, 2016 Stabbing Murder

On November, 19th 2016 at approximately 12:15 AM, Modesto Police Officers were dispatched to the Shadow Lounge on Oakdale Rd and Sylvan Ave after receiving calls of a stabbing. An unknown number of people, including the suspect(s), fled from the scene in various directions prior to officers arriving.

When officers arrived they located two victims, one of which was 35 year old Fadi Salman. They were both transported to a local area hospital. Salman was pronounced deceased a short time later. Salman is from Yemen and has been in Stanislaus County for a few months visiting family. The second victim who was transported sustained non-life threatening injuries. Early into the investigation a third victim arrived at the hospital. His injuries were first reported as having been stabbed; however after being treated it was determined he was not stabbed. His injuries were minor.

The investigation has revealed that an argument of some sorts, believed to have started inside the Shadow Lounge, continued into the rear parking lot where the fight occurred, resulting in the assault and stabbing of the victims. The number of suspects, their descriptions, and any associated vehicle descriptions is still being determined by Detectives.
