The Frankfort/Mokena TRIAD is hosting a senior car check this Wednesday, November 16th from 9am-2pm at Lincoln-Way East. This is a great opportunity for seniors to get their cars checked before the winter. This is a FREE event for all seniors. There will be refreshments, safety information, and raffle prizes. Spaces are still available, but you must call to schedule an appointment. Contact Officer Bender at (815)469-9435 to make your appointment.

As the holiday season begins, we would like to remind you to be safe while traveling. You can store emergency contact information in your cellular phone under ICE (in case of emergency). This will allow first responders to find your emergency contact information easily if needed. Also, keep an emergency kit in your vehicle.
Your emergency kit should include things such as:
Roadside flares
A first-aid kit
Warm gloves and a hat
Jumper cables
A blanket
A flashlight with fresh batteries
A spray bottle with washer fluid
An ice scraper
An AAA or roadside emergency card
Triangle reflectors and flares
Bottled water
Non-perishable food such as an energy bar

As a reminder for the upcoming winter season, the Village allows no parking on streets between the hours of 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. after a two-inch snowfall. This parking ban allows crews to completely clear streets of snow and ice.

Finally please remember to lock your car doors, especially in open lots and overnight. Also never leave your keys or key fob in your vehicle when its unattended or overnight. Lock up- so you don't become a victim.
