Man Wanted after Firing Shots near School Bus
The Marietta Police Department Investigative Services Division is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man that fired several shots near an occupied school bus last week.
On November 9th, at approximately 3:51pm, a Marietta City School’s school bus was stopped at McIntosh Avenue and McArthur Drive. Two students were attempting to exit the school bus when the bus driver observed a male firing shots towards a house directly in front of the bus. The bus driver immediately grabbed the two children that were attempting to exit the bus and secured the doors. The driver immediately called 911 and MPD officers were dispatched to the scene. The suspect then fled the scene in a blue and white SUV.
Upon officers arrival it was determined that there were no children injured and no one had been shot. Officers reviewed the video from the school bus that shows the suspect firing 10-12 rounds towards a residence and then fleeing the scene.
This investigation is still active at this time. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the MPD Anonymous Tip Line at 770-794-6990 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
