Suspect arrested for DUI after crashing into a parked vehicle

Suspect(s): David A Mattos, 34 years of age, Petaluma resident
Vehicle(s): Electric moped
On the above date and time, PPD traffic officers were dispatched to traffic collision in the 100 block of Ellis Street. The reporting party stated a suspect driving a motorcycle had crashed into his parked vehicle and attempted to flee the area. The reporting party detained the driver until the officers arrived. Officers contacted suspect and determined he had an odor of alcohol on his breath. Officers conducted a DUI investigation and determined Mattos was under the influence of alcohol while driving. Mattos was arrested and transported to PPD for booking. Mattos was determined to be a .18% BAC. The parked vehicle sustained minor damage.
