More than a half dozen OSBI special agents have responded to an officer-involved shooting in Creek County. So far, investigators have learned that three emergency calls were made to the Creek County Sheriff's Office at about 1:15 p.m. regarding gun fire in the area of the 6100 block of S. 45th West Avenue, in the Oakhurst area. When a deputy arrived at that location, he encountered Tyler Don Shepherd. At some point, the deputy fired his weapon striking Shepherd one time. Shepherd, 23, was transported to an area hospital for what is believed to be a non-life threatening injury. Shepherd was living at a nearby home with a relative. The Creek County Sheriff's Office requested OSBI investigate the shooting. OSBI will gather information and evidence and present a comprehensive report to the district attorney. The DA will determine whether the shooting was justified.
