SUBJECT OF RELEASE: Breaking and Entering Arrests

Montcalm County Sheriff’s deputies have now made three arrests in connection to a breaking and entering of the Montabella Central Office Building, located at 302 W. Main Street in Edmore.

At 7:30 am on October 26th Deputy Greg Syrjala was called to the Central Office Building after staff members discovered the break-in upon opening the building. Physical evidence was collected at the scene and subsequent investigation led to the development of three suspects, 2 juvenile males from Edmore along with a 17 year old Edmore man. The deputy was able to recover the stolen property and obtained confessions from the suspects.

The Montcalm County prosecutor’s office authorized felony charges on all three suspects including Breaking and Entering, Safe Breaking, Larceny in a Building, and Destruction of Property in excess of $1,000.

The 17 year old Edmore man has been identified as Ethan Hart. Hart has been arraigned in the 64B District Court on the above charges. One juvenile was apprehended and transported to a detention facility in Saginaw. The second juvenile had been evading arrest but was apprehended after a foot pursuit with deputies on the afternoon of November 3rd and subsequently placed in a detention facility in Saginaw.
