Public Assistance Requested in Shooting Case
Dearborn, Mi. — On Saturday October 29, 2016 at approximately 3:45pm, Dearborn officers responded to the area of Hubbard and Southfield on a report of shots fired. Officers on scene spoke to the victim who stated he and his family were stopped at the traffic light at eastbound Hubbard at Southfield. A male in a dark colored vehicle pulled alongside of the victim’s vehicle, produced a handgun, and began firing at his vehicle. The victim fled the scene and there were no injuries as a result of the shooting. A suspect description was provided and the Dearborn Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in this incident. The suspect is described as an Arabic male, 20-30 years old with facial hair. Anybody with information regarding this incident is urged to call the Dearborn Police or if they wish to remain anonymous they can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Crime Stoppers is offering a $1000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect in this case.
Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad stated, “This crime is particularly disturbing because there were small children in the victim’s vehicle when the shooting occurred. This type of crime is most unacceptable and motive is not certain. We will not sleep until this perpetrator is brought to justice.”
