When Jorge Gordon (34) of Southgate arrived at the restaurant in East Los Angeles on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 1300 hours, he was expecting to meet the 16 year-old girl he had met on the internet.  During that conversation on social media, Gordon had persuaded her to meet him and to engage in various sex acts with him.  Instead of finding the girl he had planned to exploit, he was met by a group of Sheriff’s Human Trafficking Investigators who arrested him and charged him with a felony charge.
 
“Investigators are active on social media, looking for those who intend to victimize the children in our community,” commented Sergeant Chris Sciacca.  “These predators must know that we are actively looking to spoil their plans to prey on minors.” 
 
Traveling to meet a minor for the purpose of a lewd act is a felony which landed Gordon in jail at East Los Angeles Station, being held on $75,000 bail.  During an interview with detectives, Gordon admitted to knowing that his targeted victim was underage.  He is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, November 3, in East Los Angeles Court.
