AFD Responds to Shed Fire Adjacent to Residential Structure

At 9:02 P.M., AFD units responded to a report of a detached shed on fire next to a residential structure in the 13000 block of Venus Way. Mulitple calls to 911 were made reporting the fire, and a caller reported hearing explosions prior to seeing the shed on fire. AFD responded with fifteen fire apparatus, water tenders, and command and support units.
Upon arrival at the scene at 9:07 P.M., personnel found an approximately 12’ x 20’ shed on fire directly adjacent to the residential structure. Crews immediately began suppressing fire that was impinging on the house and suppressing the shed fire. The fire was declared under control by 9:37 P.M. and crews are currently conducting salvage and overhaul operations on the shed and the interior/exterior of the house. Another residential structure in close proximity to the shed is also being checked for damage.
No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
