Early this morning, the Sayre Police Department requested OSBI investigative assistance with an attempted carjacking and shooting. At approximately 2:30 a.m., a man drove into the parking lot of the Flying J truck stop on interstate 40 in Sayre. Soon after, the man attempted to steal a motor home parked in that same lot. The male suspect shot the vehicle owner at least one time in the leg. The male suspect got back inside the small, possibly silver colored vehicle he arrived in and left eastbound I-40. OSBI special agents are not sure if the male suspect in this shooting incident is the same suspect sought in other shootings and homicides in Oklahoma. Special agents are working to determine if there is a connection.
