Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department have learned that on Monday, October 24, 2016, at approximately 5:20 AM Compton Station personnel were involved in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle suspect. The Sergeant who was assigned to Compton Sheriff Station was responding to assist with the pursuit.

While in pursuit, the Sergeant was involved in a single vehicle traffic collision in the intersection of Myrrh Street and Williowbrook Avenue, city of Compton.

Compton Station personnel responded to the Sergeant’s location when they noticed he was unconscious and non-responsive.  Deputies began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) prior to Compton Fire Department’s arrival.  When Compton Fire Department arrived the sergeant was still unconscious and non-responsive

The Sergeant was transported to a local hospital where he had passed away.

There is no suspect information, nor any additional information at this time.
