UPDATE #LASD Homicide Assist South Gate PD with Shooting Death Investigation, 8600 blk Atlantic Blvd, South Gate

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau investigators are continuing to assist South Gate Police Department with the investigation into the shooting death of a man that occurred on Friday, October 21, 2016, at 1:32 am. The victim, a 29-year-old male Hispanic, was standing in a parking lot with some co-workers when the suspect, a male Hispanic, in a black colored car, drove into the parking lot. The suspect got out of the car with an assault type rifle and shot at the victim striking him.

The suspect got back into the car and drove away on Mason Street to Firestone Boulevard and out of view.

Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

There is no more suspect information and the motive is unknown.

UNIT: LASD Homicide – Lt. Corina

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives are en route to the 8600 block of Atlantic Boulevard, South Gate, to assist South Gate Police Department personnel investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
