Hollister Police Swear In New K-9 Officer
HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA –October 20, 2016- On Thursday, October 20, 2016 K-9 Officer Dallas was sworn in as the newest member of the Hollister Police Department. The oath was administered by assistant City Clerk Christine Black.
The small ceremony was attended by coworkers, city administration and members of the public.
K-9 Handler Officer Miguel Masso and Dallas have successfully completed initial training and their certification courses. They have already started patrolling together.
The City of Hollister Police Department would like to thank Oscar Covarrubias and the Zustan K-9 Service for generously donating Dallas to our community.
Dallas is a German shepherd that was named Dallas to honor the fallen Dallas Police Officers in the tragic events of July 7, 2016; Lorne Ahrens, Michael Krol, Michael J. Smith, Brent Thompson and Patrick Zamarripa.
The Hollister Police Department thanks all those members of the public that attended the ceremony.
