Advisory

Indecent Exposure suspect wanted from a Metro Gold Line incident on 9/25 arrested by #LASD Transit Deputies.

Kerry Smith, a 24 year old, male, from Los Angeles, was arrested by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Transit Policing Division Deputies on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, less than four days after Smith was captured on cell phone video by the victim.  Smith was seen on the viral video exposing himself and performing a lewd act, while riding a Metro Gold Line train on Sunday, September 25, 2016.

The victim, a female, adult, was riding the train to downtown L.A. when she saw Smith performing the lewd act on himself, in plain view, while on the train.  The victim captured his behavior on her cell phone and posted it to her Facebook account.  The video drew a great deal of media attention and was shown on several networks.  An astute Metro patron notified the Metro Sheriff’s Hotline that they believed they saw the person from the video riding a Metro Blue Line train.

Deputies arrived and made contact with Suspect Smith.  Smith, who is currently on active parole, was in possession of a Taser.  A violation of his parole.  Later Smith admitted to being the person in the video being shown in the media.  He was booked at the Sheriff’s Century Regional Detention Center, for Felon in Possession of a Stun Gun – 22610(A) PC, and Indecent Exposure – 314.1 PC.  Mr. Smith is being held in lieu of $100,000. Bail and is awaiting arraignment.
