HCSO Child Abuse Unit Charge Man For Shooting Gun While Playing A Video Game.
<p>(Harris County, TX) Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Child Abuse Unit has arrested and charged a 21 year old man for reckless injury to a child after he fired a handgun in his home while playing a video game on Saturday, September 16, 2016 at 2:45 pm in northwest Harris County.</p>
<p>Investigators say that Kevin Castillo was playing a video game in his room, when he pointed a handgun and pulling the trigger on what he thought was an unloaded pistol. </p>
<p>When Castillo pulled the trigger the handgun discharged into the television and through an adjoining wall an struck his 13 year old sister who was sitting on a bed.</p>
<p>Family members rushed to the girl’s aid, pressing towels to the wound behind her right ear.</p>
<p>An ambulance transported her by ground to Memorial Hermann Medical Center where she was in good condition.</p>
<p>Castillo claims he pulled the magazine from the handgun, but in this incident he failed to remove the round chambered in the barrel.</p>
<p>He was released after posting a $30,000 bond and his first court appearance is December 02, 2016 in the 230th felony court.</p>
