On Monday, October 17, 2016 at approximately 2:02 p.m. Palmdale Station received several calls of shots being fired at 25th Street East and Avenue S, Palmdale.

Palmdale Station Deputies, Palmdale Operation Safe Streets (OSS) Detectives, Palmdale Partners Against Crime (PAC) Deputies, and Lancaster Station Deputies responded to the shots being fired call.

Upon arriving, deputies learned that a physical altercation escalated when one party drew a handgun and started shooting.  Four people were transported to a local hospital, three with non-life threatening gunshot wounds, and one with non-gunshot related trauma to the face sustained in the physical altercation.

With the help from the citizens’/witnesses’ excellent descriptions and information, the deputies were able to detain two suspects approximately 20 minutes after their arrival.  The suspects were positively identified through field show ups and arrested.  A firearm was recovered at the scene.

Palmdale station expresses their sincere gratitude to the citizens who aided in the capture of the suspects.  Without the publics assistance this incident could have escalated further and, or the suspects could have fled the area.
