Subject: Report of a threat regarding Cardinal Heights Upper Middle School

Last night the Sun Prairie Police Department and Dane County Sheriff's Department received information of a possible threat regarding Cardinal Heights Upper Middle School in Sun Prairie. The threat was sent by text to one of the students whose family contacted law enforcement. That text ended up being circulated via social media. The Sun Prairie Police Department received numerous calls regarding this text.

Officers from the Sun Prairie Police Department were able to track the text to its source, another juvenile. That juvenile admitted to sending the text only to one person as a prank, and did not intend for it to spread.The Sun Prairie Police Department was able to determine that the threat was not credible.School officials were notified of the text and the results of the investigation.
