Advisory

RPD-Burglary Advisory-

Riverside Residents-

While we have recently made an arrest of a suspect for car burglaries, we continue to have what appears to be another group of individuals committing car and garage burglaries. We have had two incidents in the last several days; one on Olmsted and one on Gage. In these instances, they are burglarizing unsecured garages and/or cars and stealing anything they can get their hands on. Property stolen includes power equipment, power washers, lawn equipment and anything left in the vehicles. I am encouraging you to lock your vehicles while they are in the driveway or street, leave on your outside coach lights and please lock and secure your overhead garage doors.

Thus far, the car/garage burglaries have been occurring after sunset.

The only description we have from witnesses is that they saw a work van/SUV type vehicle in the area just prior to the burglary. There is no other description or physical description of the offenders.

Please call the Riverside Police Department about any suspicious people, activity or noises you may hear.

Respectfully,

Thomas Weitzel, Chief of Police
