<p>Harris County, TX)&nbsp; A Harris County Sheriff&rsquo;s Office District 1 patrol deputy escaped serious injury after his patrol car was rear-ended by a DWI suspect this morning October 11, 2016, at around 1:00am.</p>

<p>Deputy A. Montoya was travelling in the 10700 block of South Main near the Medical center, when a black Dodge Charger driven by 31 year old Parisha Shantal Blade was approaching his patrol vehicle from behind at a high rate of speed.</p>

<p>Deputy Montoya attempted to change lanes to avoid her running into him, when the Charger struck his vehicle in the rear passenger side area forcing it into the center concrete wall.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Deputy Montoya exited the vehicle and tried to detain Blade; she then accelerated and drove away from the crash.</p>

<p>He then&nbsp;ran back to his vehicle ,&nbsp;to pursue the Charger, but it sustained two blown tires in the initial crash.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Houston Police Department was notified via dispatch, and a few moments later she was detained by officers in the 14400 block of Hiram Clark and brought back to the scene.</p>

<p>Deputy Montoya was transported to Sugarland Methodist Hospital for an injury to his elbow. &nbsp;He was later released in good condition.</p>

<p>Blade did not sustain any injuries and was transported to the Harris County Sheriff&rsquo;s Office Inmate Processing Center for driving while intoxicated and evading arrest in a motor vehicle.</p>
