Full Notification

ADVISORY: Bailey Canyon and Mt. Wilson trail are closed until further notice due to a recent bear attack. This occurred 2 miles north of the park in the US Forestry area at Georgia's Cabin. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. There is no immediate threat to the Sierra Madre community as this is well into the mountain area. SMPD is working in conjunction with the US Forestry Service and the Dept. of Fish and Game. We will update as information becomes available.
