Thefts of Pickup Truck Tailgates Advisory 
The Torrance Police Department would like pickup truck owners/drivers to be aware of the ongoing trend of thieves taking the tailgates off of Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford and Toyota trucks manufactured between 2010 and 2015. The bulletin listed in the link below show trucks that have been targeted since March 2016. Almost all thefts have been in residential neighborhoods during early morning hours.
Parking your truck in your garage when possible or backing up to your garage door would help protect your property from these thieves. If your tailgate is equipped with a lock, please consider deploying same when parking your vehicle.
