RPD-Community Advisory-

Riverside Residents,

I wanted to update residents about an incident on West Quincy. I have had many phone calls and emails from residents who saw a large police presence late Friday night and early Saturday morning on West Quincy.

Riverside was being assisted by Brookfield, Lyons and North Riverside police departments searching for a stalking suspect. We have made an arrest in that case. An ex-boyfriend was waiting in the forest preserve for his ex-girlfriend. He went so far as to get to her house early and unscrew all the outside security lights so that it would be dark. We were able to interrupt his planned attack and he fled into the forest preserve near Waubansee. With the assistance of our neighboring police agencies, we took him into custody and have since charged him with felony stalking.

Riverside police have arrested a 41-year-old Brookfield resident and charged him accordingly.

We send this message out to keep our residents informed.
