Advisory

1st Pct. Traffic advisory/Road closures- October 15 and 16 - for multiple community events and parades.

Please be advised of the following weekend events that may cause temporary road closures and/or traffic congestion.

Saturday, October 15:  9:00 am

Babylon Village - Post Office Café 25th Annual 5K for Charity. Beginning in the heart of Babylon Village and ending in the municipal parking lot behind the Post Office Café. The route will be throughout the country roads of overlooking the Great South Bay.

Saturday, October 15: 11:00 am to 5:00 pm

Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce Annual Street Fair. Deer Park Ave. will be closed from Main Street to Railroad Ave.

Saturday, October 15:  Tanner Park Senior Center Parking Lot:  12pm – 3pm

Trunk or Treat with Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre  and the Babylon Macaroni Kid at Tanner Park at 400 Baylawn Ave., Copiague. At this event trunk or treaters will have the opportunity to go from parked car to parked car to collect candy. Costumes and decorated cars are encouraged. There will be face painting and crafts.

Saturday, October 15:   Homecoming Parades

Babylon High School Homecoming Parade – Noon

Commencing at Gemilli’s Deli on to Main Street heading west to North Carll Ave. proceeding north to Walter Williams Football Field.

Deer Park Homecoming Parade – 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

Commencing at JFK Intermediate School at 101 Lake Ave. heading west on Lake Ave., making a right onto Deer Park Ave., head north and make a left onto Nicolls Rd., make a left onto N. 1st St., and then a right into the parking lot of the high school .

Wyandanch Homecoming Parade – 9:00 am to 11:00 am

Commencing at the intersection of S. 16th St., and 1 Garden City Ave.,  heading north on Long Island Ave., toward Straight Path, to Jamaica Ave., to S. 32nd St. Ending at 54 S. 32nd St. (High School).

Sunday, October 16: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

215 Daniel St., Farmingdale - Novak Motors/Fusion Auto Finance will host the 4th Annual Charity Car Show with music, entertainment, food and vendors.
