Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Kassandra Sandoval that occurred in the 13200 block of Gyna Lane, La Puente, on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at approximately 8:41 AM.

Detectives have learned that Industry Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a call of a “person not breathing.”  When deputies arrived, they found the victim lying on her bed unconscious and unresponsive.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

As detectives were investigating the scene, there were no obvious signs of the victim’s cause of death and discovered the victim’s vehicle was missing.

An autopsy was performed by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, and it was determined that the victim’s cause of death was asphyxiation.  The case was ruled a homicide. 

Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation to seek for the person(s) responsible for the death of Kassandra Sandoval.

UPDATE-LASD Homicide Detectives Investigate the Unknown Death of a La Puente Woman.  

Investigators from Los Angeles County Homicide Bureau are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death of a 24-year-old woman, Kassandra Maricel, at her residence in the 13200 block of Gyna Lane, La Puente.  The young woman was found in her bed by her mother Sunday morning.  She was unresponsive so her mother called 9-1-1.  Paramedics arrived at the location and pronounced the victim dead. 

There are no obvious signs of trauma to the victim’s body. The exact cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner- Coroner during autopsy.
