#LASD Narcotics Bureau, Seized approximately 1.5 Million Dollars’ Worth of Marijuana, South El Monte 
On Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., as part of an ongoing investigation into a potential illicit marijuana growing operation members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Narcotics Bureau Northeast team served several search warrants in the 1000 Block of Adelia Avenue, in South El Monte.
At the conclusion of the operation, a large complex illicit marijuana grow was discovered inside of a warehouse/business. Approximately 2200 live marijuana plants were seized, along with approximately 40 pounds of finished marijuana product. The recovered marijuana has a combined estimated street value of 1.5 million dollars.
Additionally, more than $10,000 in U.S. currency was seized.
Two male adults Hokab Avagyan 32 year-old resident of El Monte and Armen Begouan 31 year-old resident of Los Angeles, were arrested for cultivation of marijuana and booked at Temple Sheriff's station. They’re being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
