The Sun Prairie Police Department has received reports of callers identifying themselves as Sun Prairie Police attempting to receive money to settle IRS debts. One of the phone calls received identified our non-emergency number of 608-837-7336 as the caller. The Sun Prairie Police Department will not contact you on behalf of the IRS and would not request these types of actions. Do not provide any personal identification information to anyone who requests this type of information during these types of phone calls.

The Sun Prairie Fire Department has received a number of inquiries regarding groups who are cold calling residents and soliciting donations. Please be advised, this is not any representative from our fire department. As a resident of our community you will at no time be contacted by phone by a member of the fire department regarding a charitable donation.
