“Fun in the Sun” Chili Cook Off

 

When: Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Where: Jack Bones Equestrian Center, located at 26983 Tapia Canyon Castaic, CA 91384

 

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, cordially invites you to come and enjoy the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department “Fun In the Sun” Chili Cook Off on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Jack Bones Equestrian Center in Castaic. This fun and entertaining events benefits Special Olympics Santa Clarita and Tri-Valley and draws thousands of people who want to taste lots of Chili.  You can enjoy two live bands, military displays, crafters, vendors and much more. The Kids Zone includes a climbing wall, face painting and games for all ages.

The Chili Cook-Off was first sponsored by the Sheriff’s Department over 25 years ago, and has grown to include about 30 plus chili booth. In addition to the chili booths, other food items will be provided at reasonable prices. Adult beverages will be available as well, to those who provide appropriate proof of age.

The event is only $10 per person this includes a chili tasting card for over 30 different chili’s.  Chili booths are competing for numerous awards in culinary skills, spiciest, booth decoration, and team spirit.

“This is a favorite fundraiser for many Special Olympics fans and families. There is something here the entire family.” said Laura Mayo, Regional Director, Special Olympics Santa Clarita & Tri-Valley. “These funds allow us to provide sports and training to over 300 athletes here in Santa Clarita & Tri-Valley,” say Mayo. 

The Jack Bones Equestrian Center is accessible via the Parker Road exit off the northbound Interstate 5 to Castaic Road south, continue ½ mile to Tapia Canyon Road east, and follow the signs to the event.
