Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing to assist West Covina Police Department with their investigation of a body that was recovered in Azusa Canyon, along Azusa Avenue Mile Marker 2.5, on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 10.30 a.m.

Investigators learned the body that was recovered at the location could be related to a missing person that was reported in West Covina earlier in the week.

Pending identification of the body, all further inquiries regarding this incident are to be directed to West Covina Police Department at (626) 939-8500.

NARRATIVE:               

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives along with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner are responding to the area of Azusa Canyon, Azusa Avenue Mile Marker 2.5, regarding a death investigation. The incident occurred on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at approximately 10:30 AM.
