<p>All schools in Florence Township are now open.&nbsp; Please pay attention when driving and put all distractions down until you arrive at your desitnation.&nbsp; Be sure to account for the increased traffic due to school being open.</p>

<p>Below are some reminders for drivers:</p>

<p>You MUST STOP for pedestrians in crosswalks.&nbsp; Drivers who fail to stop for pedestrians in crosswalks are subject to a $200 fine, 2 points and insurance surcharges.</p>

<p>School crossing guards are at intersections to assist children in safely crossing the street.&nbsp; Vehicles shall not proceed thru an intersection until the crossing guards and children are SAFELY OUT of the crosswalk.&nbsp; Failure to obey a school crossing guards direction could result in a $300 fine, 2 points and insurance surcharges.</p>

<p>Officers will periodically monitor school bus stops for vehicles passing school buses when they are stopped with their lights on.&nbsp; A violation of passing a school bus could result in a $100 fine, and up to 15 days in jail or 15 days community service for a first offense.&nbsp; For subsequent offenses, violators can receive a $250 fine or more and up to 15 days in jail.&nbsp; Five points are added to a driver&#39;s record for each offense.</p>
