28 Year Old Suspect Arrested for Choking Mother 
On September 5, 2016, at approximately 2254 hours, Davis Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1500 block of Lemon Lane for threats being made to the victim (a 50 year old female Davis resident).
Upon arrival, the investigating officer made contact with the suspect (subsequently identified as 28 year old Michael Anthony Carpenter) in front of the house. Carpenter, a son of the victim, refused to comply with the officer's orders and started running toward the victim. The responding officer had to use a Taser to subdue the suspect.
Victim told officers the suspect threatened to kill her, choked her, and attempted to stab her with a knife. The victim was transported and treated at Sutter Davis.
Michael Carpenter was booked at the YOLO County Jail on charges of attempted homicide.
