Good News! Progress and Successes of our Santa Ana Police Department
The City of Santa Ana is extremely proud of the outstanding police work our officers do every day to enhance public safety for our community. Thanks to our dedicated police offers and City of Santa Ana leadership, we have made tremendous progress and would like to share some of the successes in the area of improved public safety.
Santa Ana has experienced a 74 percent reduction in crime from 1987 to 2015 according to the FBI Crime Index
Santa Ana is named among America's safest cities by a number of publications (i.e. Forbes, ADT, World Atlas, etc.)
City Council has increased the number of sworn positions by 45 over the past three years
Police officer hiring has increased 733% since 2012
Since 2012, 58 cents out of every new dollar invested in Santa Ana has gone toward our Santa Ana Police Department
Average 911 response time to priority 1 calls is 6.9 minutes
Safety always comes first and is a major reason that Santa Ana has made outstanding progress in the following categories: improved property values, increased sales tax revenue, increased business licenses, 20% General Fund reserve levels, and higher employment rates for our residents.
