Advisory

Clarification on “Refrain from causing wakes advisory” that was issued on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2016

Clarification on “Refrain from causing wakes advisory” that was issued on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2016 by the Cass County Office of Emergency Management.

Cass County residents should not misinterpret the advisory,

“With many Cass County Michigan lake levels still extremely high Cass County’s Office of Emergency Management and the Cass County Drain Commissioner are once again asking boaters to refrain from causing wakes while enjoying the lakes on Tuesday, August 23rd through Thursday, September 1st, 2016”,

and presume that, regardless of their lake level, that the Cass County Office of Emergency Management is "advising" that there be no wakes created on all lakes within Cass County, and should not use the advisory as a mechanism to try and stop normal boating activity on lakes with normal lake levels. Lake Associations, residents, and boaters need to work together to determine what is best for their specific lake.
